Plymouth's 1st stop shop on New George Street needs to re-open say councillors from Plymouth Conservatives.
The 1st stop shop was forced to close during the pandemic, and Johnny Mercer MP for Plymouth Moor View has added his voice to the calls for the customer service desk to once again open its doors.
The Conservative Group lodged a Motion at the Full Council meeting on Monday 20 November, calling for the Labour-run Plymouth City Council to open up shop.
Proposed by Cllr David Salmon (Plymstock Dunstone) and seconded by Conservative Group Leader, Cllr Andy Lugger (Southway), the motion cited Plymouth’s elderly population as a key reason to re-open the facility to the community, which would also allow for residents who do not use IT, to speak with a council official face-to-face.
The motion was moved to the Scrutiny Committee for consideration.
