As the dust settles on the General Election 2024, it was a mixed night for Plymouth Conservatives.
We say a huge congratulations to Rebecca Smith MP, who was elected as member of Parliament for South West Devon, replacing Sir Gary Streeter.
Rebecca will be a solid champion for our community, and we look forward to her serving the residents of South West Devon, and seeing her flourish in the Mother of all Parliaments. Read her election statement here.

Sadly, we lost our representative for Plymouth Moor View, Johnny Mercer. Johnny has championed the importance of veterans locally and nationally, brought significant sums of investment to the city, and dedicated himself to serving the constituent of Plymouth Moor View since his election in 2015. Johnny will be sorely missed, and we wish him and his family all the best for their future.

We thank Gareth Streeter for standing in Plymouth, Sutton and Devonport. And whilst not his night, Gareth played a key role in supporting both Rebecca and Johnny, and this will not be the last that we see of him.
The last word goes to Rt Hon Sir Gary Streeter, who has served the residents of South West Devon tirelessly since 1997. Thank you for your loyal service Sir Gary. We wish you a very happy retirement.
